I just bought a Freeagent desk, it is the regular one with only a USB port. I have a mac os x (10.5). I am trying to format it to mac extended but it always gives me an error, it is fine if I format it to fat32 though. The usual error is Disk Erase Failed with error: File system formatter failed: and Disk Erase Failed with error: The underlying task reported failure on exit: Is there a fix or no luck? Thanks

Here at Seagate knowledge base you find this document showing how to format drives using DiskUtility which comes with Mac OS X. The partition scheme has to be set to Mac. Cannot Format MS-DOS Volume for Mac OS Extended in OS X [192491] http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=192491&NewLang=en Please let me know if that works because I would like to know before I buy this drive (for my Mac).
