I am trying to play a video with the wmv format , the viseo is 6Mb in size, and I get an error message on the SG Freeagent: " Frame too Big " I tried to convert to avi, divx-avi etc, but they all give same error. Video data rate is 41kbps, sample rate is 24bit, waht ever all that means, I can play this video file on my PC with VLC Media player no probs. I can also play other wmv files, no probs, Just not any from this Perticular DVD Any thoughts? Thanks

madmac007, I'm guessing that your video file resolution and frame rate is too high for this player maximum setting. The limit (stated from the FAQ page) is "Supports MPEG-4, DivX, Xvid up to 1280 x 720 60fps and supports MPEG-2 and photos up to 1920 x 1080i 30 fps " Do you know what is the resolution and frame rate (fps)? you can tell from running VLC, using menu Tools --> Codecs information. What tool did you use to convert your video file? I think this is just the case when your PC's graphic adapter is more capable than the Seagate player, so you have no problem playing it on the PC.

Success:\ I downloaded Ultra wvm converter, converted a test file to mpeg2 video format after checking the faq, Quality not as good as original but it definatley works. On another note: Can the home user add more codec to the SG Freeagent ? madmac

madmac007, When converting to MPEG2, remember to check the default bit rate that conversion tool use (in this case Ultra WVM). Sometime it sets too low, and your PQ got worse. Also check the resolution. I don't think home users can add more codec. The only way to do that is through updated firmware. There is an updated FW (version 1.00.15) on this FA Theater download page, but it does not include any new codec.

Thanks bodhi78 I did play with the setting in the converter to get a setting that worked. Now I can play all those training videos via Freeagent, directly on my 50" Plasma tv. Man i just love the SG Freeagent. Thanks
