I have exactly the same problem than Woodee which is no devise recognised in the scan and no update possible cause of the error "rror: Specific model not found. ST31000340AS expected" ... I have the 7200.11 ST3100340AS with the -303 at the end. Waiting and waiting for an issue... Seagate!can u help?

call seagate at 1.800.732.4283 for help. it's clear that the only seagate reps on these boards are not to keen on elping forum members, but just disorganizing threads and removing links to other valid sources of information on the internet. calling tech support is your only hope, young padawan.
